Samjiyeon-gun region in North Korea covered with snow

On October 30, Korea’s Central News Agency (KCNA) published several photos when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the construction site in Samjiyeon-gun, Ryanggang, North Korea.

Samjiyeon-gun was designated as a special zone since Kim Jong-un ordered to build an international first class tourist destination in 2016.

The photos show Samjiyeon-gun covered with snow. It was reported that heavy snow had fallen on Mount Baekdu in September.

On October 30, the temperature in Samjiyeon-gun during the day was minus 4 degrees.

The following are photos of Samjiyeon-gun covered with snow on October 30.

Devastation for trees in France

Record snow fall weighing down on trees full of leaves. The view up /down our drive this morning — no electricity. It’s still October.

“Our neighbour who is 80 and lived here all his life says he’s never seen anything like it.”

Coquihalla Highway could see heavy snow tonight

Oct 30, 2018 – After an early-season snowstorm shut down the Coquihalla Highway for hours this past Sunday, Environment Canada warng that the popular highway between Hope and Merritt could be hit with another round this evening.

The agency is forecasting 10 cm of accumulation throughout the night.

For those travelling on the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kelowna this evening or tonight, it’s much the same story as well.

Drivers using the route should exercise extra caution by adjusting their driving with the changing road conditions. Visibility may also be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
On Sunday, the Coquihalla Highway was closed in both directions due to the snow.

Winter tires became mandatory for mountain highway routes beginning October 1, until April 30, 2019.
