Checkout AEMO Price and Demand charts. I kept screen shots – NSW, Qld, Vic, SA all showing a greater than halving of the spot price as the 1st of May starts. But Tasmania scores a price hike that more than doubles. We will see what AEMO spot prices do in May. For snapshot of all States generation by type there is NemWatch.

Forget your outdoor plans for the weekend.

Forecasters called for rain, cold, and possibly a rain-snow mix for today through Monday in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.

KMTV meteorologist Ryan McPike called for a chance of wet snowflakes mixed with rain late Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

“That’s impressive for late April,” said McPike of the possible snow.

He said one computer model had the Norfolk, Nebraska, area receiving up to 3.5 inches of wet snow and the Elkhorn area getting up to 1 inch.

The National Weather Service office in North Platte, Nebraska, issued a winter storm watch for this evening through Sunday evening, saying Frontier County could receive 1 to 3 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Meteorologist Jim Kalina of the NWS said the wintry blast could deliver 6 to 12 inches of snow.

“It’s probably going to be closer to 6 (inches), but we have the potential for more,” Kalina said.

A hard freeze for the area is possible Sunday morning.

Boulder’s previus record snowfall for April 29 was the 8.5 inches recorded in 2005.
