Viewers may question much of what they hear and read about scientific and medical studies after watching the latest “Full Measure” cover story. It’s a cautionary note issued by respected industry leaders who say unseen interests are exerting enormous control over research and what is—or isn’t—published. Their startling claim: that a large percentage of articles in prestigious medical journals are…

Lifting Scottish Govt’s Fracking Ban ‘Would Spark £10 Billion Boom’

Lifting Scottish Govt’s Fracking Ban ‘Would Spark £10 Billion Boom’

Lifting the Scottish Government’s fracking moratorium would create 3,100 jobs, see £6.5 billion spent in Scotland create an additional £4bn in tax receipts, the industry body representing the UK’s onshore oil and gas sector has said.

The United Kingdom Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG) believes there is a “significant economic opportunity” to be exploited if the Scottish Government decides to embrace the controversial energy extraction technique.

In a document prepared for the Scottish Government, UKOOG also claimed many of the health and environmental concerns about unconventional oil and gas exploration have been “debunked” by experts and called for the moratorium to be lifted.

The petrochemical company Ineos would like to use fracking to extract energy from beneath the Forth Valley – a proposal that has meet with opposition from politicians and environmental campaigners.

The Scottish Government has imposed a moratorium to consider the evidence on fracking before coming to a position.

Ken Cronin, chief executive of UKOOG, said: “We recognise that as a result of a deeply polarised debate and an extremely unfair depiction by some of the onshore oil and gas industry there is still much to do to ensure local communities within the central shale belt have proper information.”

A Scottish Labour spokesman said: “If we want to leave our planet in the right condition for our grandchildren then we need to take responsibility now and outlaw fracking.

Climate Science As A Criminal Venture

Climate Science As A Criminal Venture

One hundred “climate scientists” announced yesterday that Arctic sea ice is melting twice as fast as expected, and has passed the point of no return. They say it will all be gone soon.

Ice In The Arctic Ocean Is Melting Twice As Fast And We Have Reached Point Of No Return! – Indiatimes.com

This claim is wildly fraudulent. In fact, Arctic sea ice is melting very slowly, is in the normal range, and extent is well above last year and 2006.

Ten years ago, scientists said the exact same thing, and said the ice would be gone by 2012.

Arctic sea ice is doing the exact opposite of what scientists claim. Climate scientists repeat the identical lies year after year, decade after decade. These people are being paid to lie to the public. It is a criminal venture, not a science.

Leaving office has not stopped Obama’s habit of telling porkies, as the Daily Caller reports:

Former President Barack Obama told those gathered at an agricultural conference that man-made global warming was already impacting agriculture on a global scale, shrinking crop yields and raising food prices.

“Our changing climate is already making it more difficult to produce food,” Obama said at the Seeds & Chips conference in Milan, Italy Tuesday, according to The New York Times.

“We’ve already seen shrinking yields and rising food prices,” the former president said in his first speech outside the U.S. since leaving office in January.

But is global warming already hurting agriculture? There’s not a lot of evidence for that claim.

In fact, 2016 was a record year for crop yields, which have basically doubled since 2007.

Production of wheat, coarse grains and rice hit record levels in 2016, according to United Nations data. Cereal production is set to shrink 0.4 percent in 2017 “from the 2016 record high,” but “supplies are likely to remain large with next season’s cereal ending stocks remaining close to their record high opening levels,” the UN reports.

As for food prices, they’re well below recent highs hit in 2010. UN data shows the inflation-adjusted food index — the average of five commodity price indices — is just below where it was in 1965. the food price index peaked around 1975.

And as the UN’s own data shows, crop yields have been rising steadily since 1960.

Obama himself is so concerned about global warming that he flew by private jet to Milan, in order to make this speech, which earned him $2.7 million.

Not satisfied with such carbon spewing, he then took a 14 car convoy, to drive into the city.

Not for him to have to share a bus with the little people!
