The useful idiots in the press who report on climate, continue to insist that the Arctic is melting down and nearing catastrophe.

In the actual Arctic, sea ice extent is normal and Greenland has gained a record amount of ice this winter.

It wasn’t always like this though. In 1952, the polar icecaps were melting at an astonishing and unexplained rate and were threatening to swamp seaports. The glaciers of Norway and Alaska lost half their mass during the first half of the 20th century.

EU nations set to wipe out forests and not account for emissions

EU nations set to wipe out forests and not account for emissions

Yes folks, they’re going to burn wood on an industrial scale and call it ‘climate-friendly’. You couldn’t make it up.

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

It looks like greenwash. European nations publicly keen to boost their climate credentials by switching to “green” biomass are accused of working behind the scenes to expunge their carbon emissions from burning wood in power stations from national emissions statistics.

“If we don’t measure emissions when trees are cut, we won’t measure them at all,” says Hannah Mowat of FERN, a European NGO working to save the continent’s forests, who has followed the EU negotiations on the issue.

India To Tax Wealthy Solar Investors

India To Tax Wealthy Solar Investors

India is at risk of undermining its own ambitious solar power targets, executives have warned, after it emerged that the government intends to tax parts for solar panels at more than double the rate of coal under a new national goods and services tax.

Photovoltaic cells will be taxed at 18 per cent under plans for the new GST, which comes into force on July 1, whereas coal will face a 5 per cent levy.

The plans, agreed over the weekend, have triggered accusations of hypocrisy from the solar industry, which warns the move will drive up prices.

“Quite simply, this will drive up costs by 18 per cent,” said Inderpreet Wadhwa, chief executive of solar developer Azure Power. “It will create scepticism in the market, and investors will wonder whether the country plans to make it easier or harder for solar in the future. It will definitely slow down the sector’s growth.”

India has set itself some of the world’s most ambitious targets for installing new solar power capacity, with Narendra Modi, the country’s prime minister, aiming for 100 gigawatts of solar power by 2022. At the end of last year the country had just 7.5 gigawatts.

Memorial Day Used To Be Hot

Memorial Day Used To Be Hot

The US is headed for its fifth consecutive cool Memorial Day, but Memorial Day used to be hot in the US. On May 29, 1934  ninety and one hundred degree temperatures were common throughout much of the US. South Dakota and Nebraska both reached 109 degrees that day.  This year they are forecast to be almost 40 degrees cooler.

After 1945, there was a sharp drop in the frequency of hot weather on May 29.

Actual scientists would want to understand this, but fake government climate scientists simply change the data and lie to the public.
