Sunless in Seattle – Two Rainfall Records Smashed

Only eight sunny days since October 1, 2016

Between Oct. 1, 2016 and April 25, 2017, a whopping 44.69 inches of precipitation had been measured at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. This toppled the previous October-through-April record for the city set just one year ago and is far, far above – almost 14 inches above – the average for those seven months combined – more than 44 percent above average.

What’s more, the Emerald City recorded 144 days of measurable precipitation during that period, smashing the previous record of 137 days set in both 2010-2011 and 1998-1999.

There has been at least .01 inch of precipitation at SeaTac Airport for 70 percent of the days since Oct. 1, far surpassing the roughly 53 percent of wet days in a typical October through April, according to National Weather Service 30-year average statistics.

Other parts of the West also experienced historic precipitation during this period.

Through Monday, SeaTac Airport has managed a total of eight “sunny days” – defined as a daily average sky cover of 30 percent or less – since Oct. 1.

This means that Seattle rainfall records have broken in four of the last 18 years.

And remember, Seattle just endured its coldest winter on record.

Hmmm. Is this just a coincidence, or are we beginning to see a pattern here?

Half of meteorologists don’t think human emissions are major cause of climate change

In 2016 67% of meteorologists said that humans have caused most or all climate change and The Guardian headlined that there was a Growing Consensus among Meteorologists. In 2017 that fell to only 49%. The Guardian said nothing.

In 2017 29% of meteorologists who thought climate was largely or entirely man-made, but that fell to only 15% this year.

Figure how this result fits with the idea of the overwhelming evidence and 97% consensus. Which group on the planet after climate scientists should be the second profession to “get it” — how about meteorologists?

So either:

1. meteorologists are really stupid, or

2. meteorologists know how hard it is to predict the climate.

Nearly half of weathercasters (49%) are convinced that the climate change over the past 50 years has been mostly or entirely due to human activity, and an additional two in ten (21%) think it is more or less equally caused by human activity and natural events. First up, Bill led the march for science with Mike Mann recently….

…and then had a bizarre episode of his Netflix show that immediately followed. From Natural News:

In his latest plunge into quack science lunacy, Bill Nye has teamed up with Rachel Bloom in a vulgar, laughably embarrassing, science-excoriating “transgender anthem” video called “Sex Junk.” The song’s lyrics, which promote the whacked-out myth that human sex expression is not binary, include lines like, “Sex how you want, it’s your goddamn right.”

Another line from the vulgar song goes like this, while Bill Nye gyrates in the background:

This world of ours is so full of choice. But must I choose between only John or Joyce? Are my options only hard or moist? My vagina has its own voice.

The song goes on to claim that transgenderism is all part of “evolution” … an assertion that has real scientists cringing everywhere.

After the cringe-worthy song finished, Bill Nye sums up his lunacy by stating, “That’s exactly the right message, Rachel, nice job!” If Charles Darwin were still alive today, he would no doubt squash Bill Nye with a giant Galapagos tortoise.

“The video was quickly excoriated by viewers, with the YouTube version receiving more than 10,000 dislikes compared with just 170 likes,” reports Breitbart News.
