President Trump announced this afternoon that the United States will withdraw from the Paris climate accord.
The announcement makes good on Trump’s campaign promise to withdraw from the agreement, which he repeatedly mocked during the campaign.
“As someone who cares deeply about our environment, I cannot in good conscience support a deal which punishes the United States,” said Trump. “The Paris accord is very unfair at the highest level to the United States.”
“The bottom line is that the Paris Accord is very unfair at the highest level to the United States,” said Trump.
“I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris,” Trump continued. “I promised I would exit or renegotiate any deal which fails to serve America’s interests.”
I hope this is the beginning of the end of this country’s self-destructive and almost inexorable decline into socialism.
