Northern Hemisphere snow cover much greater than normal

“Rutgers University daily snow extent anomaly shows a LOT more positive snow extent than is typical,” says reader H.B. Schmidt.

“And remember, with solar angles steepening in the northern hemisphere, all that snow is going to reflect back into space that radiation and bypass the effects of that nasty CO2. Albedo is going to be higher for some time yet.”

Purple indicates more snow cover than typical. Red indicates less snow cover than typical.
