As of Thursday, Detroit’s average temperature for April is 38.3 F. That’s only slightly warmer than April 1874, which at 37.6 F was the coldest on record.
“If April ended tomorrow, it would be the second-coldest on record,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Trent Frey.
