How Not To Measure Temperature

I have been showing how summer temperatures have been declining at well sited rural stations. Now I am going to show the exact opposite. The weather station at Fort Collins, Colorado showed a huge jump in temperatures when they started building the CSU Transit Center around the year 2000.

In 1937, the station was located in the middle of a farm.

By 1950, the area was starting to get built up.

By 1969, the city had surrounded the weather station.

Now it is in the middle of a parking lot in the downtown of a large urban area, which has more than tripled in size over the past 60 years.
