Record early snowfall in Japan

17 Aug 2018 – One part of Hokkaido looks positively wintry today.

According to a Facebook link (see below), the snowfall hit 41 days earlier than in 2017.

And according to Japan Today, “The frozen scenery represents the earliest snowfall since records began being kept in 1974, coming four days earlier than the previous mark of August 21 in 2002.”
