Already the wettest September on record – More rain predicted over the weekend.
A few areas in the eastern portions of Tarrant County received as much as 8 inches of rain, said meteorologist Tom Bradshaw with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Friday night’s rain made it the wettest September on record in the area, said Bradshaw. The previous record for the month of 10.8 inches set in 1932. Friday’s rain brought this month’s total t0 11.03 inches, with more rain in the forecast for this weekend.
The rest of the county saw 3 to 5 inches.
The normal rainfall average in September is 2.55 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
