There is the potential for 6-12 inches (15 to 30 cm) of snow from Washington, D.C., to Baltimore; Philadelphia; Newark, New Jersey; New York City; Hartford, Connecticut; Boston; and Portland, Maine, with sleet on top of the snow in some areas.

Some locations may see up to 16 inches of snow, according to Accuweather.
