Brutal Cold Threatens Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Temperatures from 20F to 30F below average for this time of year.______________

19 Nov 2018 – European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) indicate a massive blast of arctic air could spread across the mid-Atlantic and North East regions this week, affecting more than 120 million consumers during one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

“Temperatures will range from 20 to 30 degrees below average for the time of year later this week, leading to brutally cold conditions for many on both the Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday,” said Ed Vallee, head meteorologist at Vallee Weather Consulting.

Low temperature forecasts from the ECMWF:

Hartford CT: 2°F
NYC: 16°F
Boston: 15°F
Philly: 16°F
DC: 18°F
