Heavy snow. Strong winds. Downed tree limbs and power lines. Power outages. Very hazardous, even life-threatening travel conditions. Two inches of snow per hour possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the entire Chicago area, including Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kendall, Lake and Will counties through early Monday.
This will be a “major” early-season winter storm, the Weather Service warns.
Far northwest suburbs could see 9 to 12 inches of snow, said National Weather Service meteorologist Todd Kluber, with 6 to 10 inches possible at O’Hare, 3 to 5 at Midway and 2 to 4 inches in downtown Chicago.
The storm is expected to impact the morning commute in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
Looks like there will be no global warming in Chicago today.
