They were “frozen solid” says Audubon Society spokesperson. Incredibly, the deaths are blamed on global warming.
In case you missed this, around 190 sea turtles were found frozen to death off Cape Cod last week.
The turtles were unable to make it to shore after they became “incapacitated” by bone-chilling temperatures, a high tide and “gale force winds,” said Bob Prescott, director of Mass Audubon wildlife.
“A lot of the turtles were found frozen in the water still,” Prescott continued. “I picked up two to three myself that were still in the water, the slushy water.”
“We are at well over 400 cold-stunned turtles [this year] — 82 today, the vast majority of them frozen solid,” said Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary communications coordinator Jenette Kerr on Thursday.
Incredibly, the article goes on to blame the sea turtle’s deaths on global warming.

“It’s not often the ABC in Australia prints anything regarding cold temperatures & it’s effects but here is an article about frozen turtles being washed up,” says Macca.
