Half of Romania experienced heavy snowfall. Vast parts of the country received more than 15 inches (38 cm) of snow.

And the forecast promises more snow for most parts of Romania during the next week.

Some areas claimed 71 cm (28 inches) of snow.

More than 40 schools are closed in Timis as they remain without electricity or heat.
