Minus 52.5°C in Yakutia – As is normal

No ‘climate change’ in Yakutia.

This season, the winter began exactly on schedule (at the beginning of October) and temperatures dropped to −10, −20, −30 and −40°C strictly in accordance with the climatic schedule.

Now, in mid-December, it’s time for the usual -50°C for this time. The first −50 came in Oimyakon on the night of December 13. Two days later, on December 15, a temperature of −52.5°C was recorded at the “Delyankir” meteorological station.

Remember that Yakut winter lasts seven long months.
It culminates in January, while in Oymyakon the minimum nightly average is -50°C, and the average daily maximum is -42°C. The winter of Yakut ends, as a rule, in late April – early May.
