On Christmas night, at most Moscow meteorological stations, the temperature dropped to minus 11-13°C, in the Tushino area to -14.9°C in the Rublevskoe highway to -16.3°C.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Cherusti -17.1°C.
On the night of January 8, the temperature in the capital will drop even further, to minus 13-15°C, and in the Moscow region to -18°C. The hardest frosts are expected on Wednesday night: in the capital minus 17-19°C, in the Moscow region minus 16-21°C and in some places down to -26°C, along with light snow.
The average daily air temperature will be 7 degrees below normal.
