The event, which lasted 23 hours, dumped more than 20 cm of snow on Hamiliton, said Environment Canada.
“It was the snowiest January 28 in Hamilton history,” he said. The previous record was set in 2009 when 11.6 cm fell.
Toronto, about 68 miles northeast of Hamilton, appears to be hit the hardest with 31 cm (slightly over a foot) of snow.
