Protecting Palo Alto From Non-Existent Sea Level Rise

Experts say the Palo Alto, CA Baylands will drown in the next 30 years.

With rising tides threatening to submerge the Palo Alto Baylands by mid-century, city officials agreed on Monday that they need to explore new barriers — both physical and legislative — to protect coastal area from sea level rise.

That sounds awful. Twenty years ago I used to live and work adjacent to the Palo Alto Baylands, and go running in Baylands Park every day.

One minor problem with the experts claim though, is that it has no basis in science or reality. Had these experts done any actual research, they would have known that sea level in the San Francisco Bay is almost exactly the same as it was in 1940.

Methane warming exaggerated by 400%

By Barry Brill The IPCC’s AR5 estimated the global warming caused by a tonne of livestock methane would be 28 times that of a tonne of carbon dioxide. New research destroys that estimate. The war on meat has been gathering pace amongst our Western elites. The Economist makes a detailed case for “plant-based food” in…

Scottish Parliament rejects call to treat climate change as an emergency

Far-out ideology, loosely based on failing climate models, gets a reality check. So-called ‘virtue’ signalling at the expense of voters’ jobs and general economic well-being is a no-no.

Nearly all Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) have voted down a call for the urgency of climate change to addressed by stopping the extraction of fossil fuels.

There were six votes for and 111 votes against, reports The GWPF.

All other parties rejected a Scottish Green motion to recognise a climate emergency by ceasing investment in oil and gas and banning fracking.

The SNP, Labour and the Scottish Conservatives argued too many jobs and livelihoods depend on the oil and gas industry in Scotland.

There were six votes for and 111 votes against.

Last year a landmark report by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the world is on course to experience 3C warming by 2030, leading to flooding, forest fires, cyclones and other events which can cause huge displacement of people and widespread poverty.

The Scottish Government has introduced legislation to set tough targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but campaigners such as striking schoolchildren argue they are not being backed up with urgent action.

Minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment Mairi Gougeon said “no one” would dispute “the urgency of the situation”.

“Suddenly ending production would have an absolutely massive impact on communities and jobs, especially in the north-east of Scotland and in constituencies such as mine,” she said.
