Attenborough To Present Climate Propaganda Programme

By Paul Homewood

The BBC are ramping up the propaganda:

Sir David Attenborough is to present an "urgent" new documentary about climate change for BBC One.

The one-off film will focus on the potential threats to our planet and the possible solutions.

The broadcaster says "conditions have changed far faster" than he ever imagined when he first started talking about the environment 20 years ago.

The documentary will show footage showing the impact global warming has already had.

It will also feature interviews with climatologists and meteorologists to explore the science behind recent extreme weather conditions, including the California wildfires in November 2018.

Last December, Sir David called climate change "humanity’s greatest threat in thousands of years" at the opening ceremony of the United Nations climate change conference.

He said it could lead to the collapse of civilisations and the extinction of "much of the natural world".

Earlier this year he spoke to Prince William at the World Economic Forum about how people must care, respect and revere the natural world.

Sir David, 92, said that when he started his career in the mid-1950s, he did not think there was anybody who thought "there was a danger that we might annihilate part of the natural world."

"It may sound frightening, but the scientific evidence is that if we have not taken dramatic action within the next decade, we could face irreversible damage to the natural world and the collapse of our societies," he says in the documentary.

The BBC said the film would "deliver an unflinching exploration of what dangerous levels of climate change could mean for human populations."

"There is a real hunger from audiences to find out more about climate change and understand the facts," said Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s director of content.

"We have a trusted guide in Sir David Attenborough, who will be speaking to the challenging issues that it raises, and present an engaging and informative look at one of the biggest issues of our time."

Climate Change – The Facts will be broadcast this spring.

According to Charlotte Moore, "There is a real hunger from audiences to find out more about climate change and understand the facts,"  I say Bull, Charlotte. Opinion polls repeatedly tell us that most people don’t give a toss about climate change. This new programme is nothing but a brazen attempt by the BBC to brainwash more gullible viewers.

As for the old phoney Attenborough, what’s this nonsense about “conditions have changed far faster" than he ever imagined when he first started talking about the environment 20 years ago.

Globally, temperatures have barely changed since 1998:

Same with UK temperatures:

No trends in England & Wales rainfall either:

Arctic sea ice extent has been stable since 2005:

Hurricane activity gas dropped in the last twenty years:

Tornado activity in the US has also been in long term decline:

Globally and nationally, the rate of sea level rise is tiny, and has changed little since the 19thC:

And worldwide, food production increases year by year:

The world’s climate is little different now to what it was twenty years ago, and it is absurd for Attenborough to claim otherwise.

As for the programme, you’ll see film of melting glaciers, hurricanes, floods, droughts and wildfires, backed up by Attenborough’s commentary claiming that they prove climate change.

Apparently we are also to be treated with an appearance by the disgraced Michael Mann:

Perhaps the BBC should add a warning at the start:

This programme is a work of fiction, and any resemblance to actual facts is purely coincidental.

Retreating Greenland glacier is growing again

Jakobshavn glacier, West Greenland [image credit: Wikipedia]

Without jumping to hasty conclusions, this is an interesting development not predicted by the IPCC’s supposed experts. Natural ocean/climate oscillations are implicated. Against assumptions, rising carbon dioxide levels cannot explain these latest observations.

A new NASA study finds a major Greenland glacier that was one of the fastest shrinking ice and snow masses on Earth is growing again, reports The GWPF.

The scientists were so shocked to find the change, Khazendar said: “At first we didn’t believe it.

“We had pretty much assumed that Jakobshavn would just keep going on as it had over the last 20 years.”

NASA research shows that Jakobshavn Glacier, which has been Greenland’s fastest-flowing and fastest-thinning glacier for the last 20 years, has made an unexpected about-face. Jakobshavn is now flowing more slowly, thickening, and advancing toward the ocean instead of retreating farther inland.

The glacier is still adding to global sea level rise – it continues to lose more ice to the ocean than it gains from snow accumulation – but at a slower rate.

The researchers conclude that the slowdown of this glacier, known in the Greenlandic language as Sermeq Kujalleq, occurred because an ocean current that brings water to the glacier’s ocean face grew much cooler in 2016. Water temperatures in the vicinity of the glacier are now colder than they have been since the mid-1980s.

In a study published today in Nature Geoscience, Ala Khazendar of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and colleagues report the change in Jakobshavn’s behavior and trace the source of the cooler water to the North Atlantic Ocean more than 600 miles (966 kilometers) south of the glacier.

The research is based on data from NASA’s Oceans Melting Greenland (OMG) mission and other observations.

Duke University Pays US Govt $112.5 Million In Science Fraud Case

Duke University will pay $112.5 million to the United States Government to settle Thomas v. Duke, a lawsuit alleging that a research technician improperly falsified and fabricated data from 2006 to 2013 to obtain research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies, the university announced Monday.

This case includes air quality research fraud previously mentioned on this page.

DUKE AND U.S. GOVERNMENT REACH SETTLEMENT
BY DUKE TODAY STAFF

Duke University will pay $112.5 million to the United States Government to settle Thomas v. Duke, a lawsuit alleging that a research technician improperly falsified and fabricated data from 2006 to 2013 to obtain research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies, the university announced Monday.

Duke discovered the possible research misconduct in 2013 after the technician was fired for embezzling money from the university, which also occurred over the same period. The payment to the government includes both reimbursement for grants received as a result of the falsified and fabricated data and associated penalties.

The Thomas v. Duke suit was filed by a former Duke employee under the False Claims Act, a federal law that allows people not affiliated with the government to file actions on behalf of the government against persons and companies that defraud the government. Persons filing under the act can receive a portion of damages.

“We expect Duke researchers to adhere always to the highest standards of integrity, and virtually all of them do that with great dedication,” said President Vincent E. Price. “When individuals fail to uphold those standards, and those who are aware of possible wrongdoing fail to report it, as happened in this case, we must accept responsibility, acknowledge that our processes for identifying and preventing misconduct did not work, and take steps to improve.”

Thomas v. Duke was filed under seal in federal court in 2014 — after the research technician was discovered to have embezzled federal grant funds that had been awarded to the university, but before Duke understood the extent of her research misconduct. Duke reported this to the appropriate agencies and repaid the embezzled funds along with all grant-funded compensation and benefits that had been paid to the technician. The technician eventually pled guilty to two counts of forgery and paid restitution to Duke.

The university then launched a formal scientific misconduct investigation of the technician’s experiments. Those experiments involved measuring the lung function of laboratory mice using highly specialized equipment and were not connected to human subject or clinical research.

Following a detailed, three-year review of more than 50 potentially compromised research grants, Duke concluded that the technician had falsified or fabricated data that had been included in grant and payment requests submitted to the NIH and other agencies over the period of her employment. Duke also retracted scientific publications that relied on the data.
