From the “Manntastic claims require Manntastic evidence” department. Guest Opinion By Marlo Lewis In an op-ed published Wednesday in the UK Guardian, Michael Mann and Bob Ward warn Americans not to be “fooled by the Stalinist tactics being used by the White House to try to discredit the findings of mainstream climate science.” Mann and Ward are upset…
Germany has broken ranks with other Western countries such as France, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands who support a call by the European Commission to meet the 2050 goal.

The theatrics of the Brexit crisis are making this week’s European Council summit in Brussels look like 27 against one. But in other business, the European Union is often a story of 15 versus 13. That is, the Western countries who joined the union before 2004, and the Eastern countries who joined after.
Tomorrow, the 28 leaders of EU countries are set to adopt a new strategy on action to combat climate change. In light of the student protests spreading across Europe and the world, many leaders in the West had wanted to strengthen the strategy. But this has been fiercely resisted by Eastern European countries led by Poland.
According to a leaked draft of the strategy, Poland is blocking an idea for the EU to commit to climate neutrality by 2050. It is being backed by its usual Eastern allies such as Hungary and the Czech Republic. But Warsaw has found a new ally against climate action which will likely see it win the battle tomorrow – Berlin.

So this claimed solution turns out to be part of the supposed problem. Of course they are promoting their imaginary ‘climate crisis’ at the same time, while insisting that ‘the batteries which power green vehicles will continue to be tainted by human rights abuses’. EV owners should be feeling as bad as their diesel counterparts by now, with such negative press.
Extracting the minerals for the lithium-ion batteries powering electric vehicles and electronics is fossil-fuel intensive, the NGO warned on Thursday.
Amnesty International called out electric car manufacturers on Thursday for producing batteries through unethical and fossil-fuel intensive methods.
The human rights NGO argued that years of unregulated industry practices for the extraction of the minerals used in lithium-ion batteries have led to “detrimental human rights and environmental impacts.”
“Finding effective solutions to the climate crisis is an absolute imperative, and electric cars have an important role to play in this,” Kumi Naidoo, Amnesty International’s Secretary General, said in a statement.
“But without radical changes, the batteries which power green vehicles will continue to be tainted by human rights abuses,” he added.
The Great Lakes region is getting warmer faster than the rest of America, resulting in extreme weather patterns, rising lake levels, flooding and the influx of invasive species, according to a study released Thursday.
The level of dishonesty in this article is off-scale, but standard practice for climate scientists. Temperatures in the Great Lakes States peaked in 1921, and have been declining ever since.
Five years ago, scientists were claiming that global warming was making Great Lakes water levels decline. Now they say global warming is making Great Lakes water levels increase.
Ice levels on the Great Lakes have been above average for four out of the last six years. There is zero evidence that the Great Lakes are warming, or that climate scientists are capable of being honest about anything.
These academics understand that they can say anything and not be challenged, and that the press will refuse to acknowledge anyone who speaks factually about the topic.
