Record cold in Moscow – Feels like mid-September

Moscow: The daily maximum of +14.7 is the lowest in history. The previous cold extremum was +16.1°C set in 1984.

With an average temperature of 18.9°C, July 31 is supposed to be the warmest of the year.

But this year, July 31 felt more like mid-September (+11.6), making it the coldest July 31 in 70 years.

According to the meteorological station VDNKh, which has been conducting observations since 1948, the former record for this day of +13.1°C belonged to 1968.
