How much does it cost to run the Committee on Climate Change?
The latest accounts for 2018/19 have just been published, and reveal just how much taxpayers’ money is being thrown at them.
Last year they cost us £4.7m, an astonishing increase of 36% over the year before:

Much of this goes towards staff costs.
The new CEO, Chris Stark is on an annual remuneration of £320,000, including pension benefits. Quite how this can possibly be justified is beyond me.
Gummer gets £25000 for a day or two a week.
The Climate Change Act mandated the formation of the Committee. But I’m not aware it laid down any funding rules.
If Boris wants to save a bit of money, I suggest he reduces their budget to, say, £10000, gets rid of the parasite Chris Stark and the rest of his well paid buddies (average pay £68000), and tells Gummer to get another job if he does not like it.
I’d be more than happy to replace him!
