Keep up the good fight against ugly, noisy, lethal & futile wind “farms,” but ignoring the evidence for global warming makes the movement look Podunk.
Wind turbines were originally not invented to stave off warming, rather to be fossil fuel extenders (made with oil and incapable of actually replacing it). The problem arose when they escaped their original cages at Altamont Pass, etc. and became the biggest eyesores ever invented, often placed in idyllic locations that older energy development hadn’t touched. In terms of wildlife, their impact on bats is especially bad.
But it’s all part of the same terminal growthism that started with fossil fuels, and that’s what many rural Big Wind opponents won’t admit. They’d rather pretend oil and coal can last forever.
