Medicine Hat, to be more precise.

The record snowfall on September 28 was 3.8 cm recorded in 1925.

Environment Canada forecast 5 to 10 cm during the day on Sunday with another 10 to 15 cm overnight.

Areas around Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass were forecast to see up to 100 cm (more than 3 ft) of snow in some areas with 40 to 60 cm likely across southwestern Alberta.

Mounties said that visibility on the Trans-Canada Highway was down to 100 metres with multiple incidents of collisions and cars which have left the road.

Drivers were backed up on the highway for several hours.
