Trail Ridge Toad, which opened more than a week later than usual in June, has now closed one week early.
___________
24 Oct 2019 – A string of snowstorms forced early closure of Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park’s most popular road.
The road’s opening on June 5 of this year came more than a week later than usual due to heavy spring storms.
But the opening did not last. The park was forced to re-close the road for several days after heavy snowfall on June 21, the first day of summer.
The park reported 10 inches (25 cm) of snow at 9,475-foot Bear Lake from Wednesday’s storm.
