January in Moscow broke a record in the dark. (Meteonovosti)
The shortest duration of sunshine in the middle zone of European Russia, as a rule, is observed in December.
But this January was stingy in the sun. In Moscow, its duration was only 11 hours.
Muscovites have never received such a “disfavor” by nature in the current century even once. January 2020 became the darkest in the last 20 years.
Before him, the record belonged to January 2004, when the sun shone for 13 hours.
