A glimmer of hope – For many, there is no need for panic

Concerning the coronavirus, “US citizens have nothing to worry about,” says a Feb 18th article on investmentwatchblog.com. However, for those who are already severely compromised, or have had the SARs vaccine…

“First, let me say that there is no need for panic,” writes a person who identifies himself (herself) as Wildthing3. “Most US citizens are not at risk for getting the pathological changes in their lungs that are causing deaths in China.”

“As a matter of fact, as of yesterday, there were 1,770 deaths from the Coronavirus. All of them, with the exception of FOUR occurred in China. I have done research on the four people that have died and found that ALL OF THEM had connections to Asia.

“Why is this important?

“Keep in mind that as of today (Feb 18), there are 77,000 people diagnosed with the Coronavirus. 26 different countries have reported cases of the virus. Yet only 4 deaths outside of China?

“It’s been 7 weeks since China admitted they had a pandemic on their hands, surely we’d be seeing a higher death rate outside of China by now…

“So here’s why I am almost positive based on what we’ve seen so far, that US citizens have nothing to worry about.

“Back when the SARs virus was going around, researchers created a vaccine for it.

Unfortunately, in layman’s terms, “researchers then found that when they reinfected mice with SARS again 54 weeks after vaccination, they saw pathological changes in the lungs of the vaccinated mice.” (See link for info about this research)

“This same exact protein is is the 2019 -nCoV virus. So, what do you think is going to happen to the people who already had the SARs vaccine and now get re-infected? You’re seeing it! They get pnuemonia (and worse) and die! And WHERE do you think the people who got SARs vaccines live? In Asian countries, most in CHINA where SARs originated!

“Can you get the coronavirus? YES.
“You can get any virus.
“Will you die from it? Probably not, unless you are already very compromised OR have had the SARs vaccine.

“Of course, the powers to be will NEVER admit that a vaccine is actually causing these deaths, but look at the entire picture, so far, my theory is proving to be true. Time will tell.”

(Even if Wildthing3 is correct and the virus is mainly restricted to Asians and those already severely compromised, I (Robert) still fear it could take down the world economy, leading to immeasurable social chaos, poverty, suffering and deaths.)

North Korea – “Keep the bodies secret”

Have you noticed that there has been no mention of coronavirus victims in North Korea?

Why not? After all, every country and territory within a 3000km radius of North Korea – except sparsely populated Mongolia – has confirmed at least one case.

Seoul-based website Daily NK, which reports on North Korea using sources from inside the hermit country, said as of February 7th five people had already died in the critical northwestern city of Sinuiju, the largest Chinese city in the region and a key trading route between the two countries.

The news site said authorities had “ordered public health officials in Sinuiju to quickly dispose of the bodies and keep the deaths secret from the public”.

Even though North Korea sealed off its 141km border with China and banned tourists from China and cancelled all flights between Beijing and Pyongyang, the virus reportedly spread to North Korea through illegal trading across the border.

“Several suspected coronavirus infections have occurred in North Korea even though it shut all its borders,” wrote Chosun Ilbo, South Korea’s biggest-selling newspaper. “The infections most likely spread through porous parts of the border with China that see plenty of smuggling and other clandestine traffic.”

North Korean officials and media continue to publicly deny any outbreak of the virus within its borders, but with it’s notoriously poor medical capabilities, I’m assuming the death toll in North Korea is climbing rapidly.

The Sun Warns Boris: Go Green And Lose Your New Voters

PUNISHING hard-working people for going about their daily business is a sure way to haemorrhage votes.

So why on earth is Boris Johnson’s top adviser considering hiking the fuel tax?

For smart city types blessed with excellent transport links, the increase would be a nuisance.

But for the Prime Minister’s new wave of voters who switched to Tory — ordinary grafters living in towns and villages — it’d be downright disastrous.

Everywhere you look, these people are being hammered by the cost of living.

Millions of Brits work hard day and night, yet come home to brown envelopes with yet more demands to pay. Energy bills, council tax, parking costs, phone bills, food bills — up, up, up.

Of course, it’s great that the Government is investing £5billion in bus and cycling routes to make life that bit cheaper for commuters. That’s exactly the sort of policy we’ve been calling for.

But it can’t come at the expense of Britain’s 37 million drivers. On this occasion, Boris must ignore Dominic Cummings and use his common sense.

Whacking voters with a whopping great tax for the privilege of taking their kids to school won’t make him any friends.

Current Rate of Sea-Level Rise ‘Not Unprecedented’, New Study Finds

“Our data confirm that the current magnitude and rate of sea-level rise is not unprecedented.”

The elevation and age of fossil microatolls from Mahutigalaa reef platform, Maldives. Red boxes are two fossil microatolls from Funadhoo reef (central Maldives, Fig.) that mark the end of the mid-late Holocene highstand and were dated using AMS; orange boxes are microatolls dated using U–Th method in this study (Supplementary Table1), vertical error bars ±0.14 m. Age error bars are smaller than the size of symbols and the width of the boxes reflects the microatoll diameter. Dashed boxes indicate corals included in lowstand calculations

Abstract: Sea-level reconstructions over the past two millennia provide a pre-industrial context to assess whether the magnitude and rate of modern sea-level change is unprecedented. Sea-level records from the Indian Ocean over the past 2,000 years are sparse, while records from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans show variations less than 0.25 m and no significant negative excursions. Here, we present evidence of two low sea-level phases in the Maldives, Indian Ocean, based on fossil coral microatolls. Microatoll growth is constrained by low water levels and, consequently, they are robust recorders of past sea level. U–Th dating of the Maldivian corals identified lowstands at AD 234–605 and AD 1481–1807 when sea level fell to maximum depths of −0.88 m and −0.89 m respectively. These lowstands are synchronous with reductions in radiative forcing and sea surface temperature associated with the Late Antiquity Little Ice Age and the Little Ice Age. Our results provide high-fidelity observations of lower sea levels during these cool periods and show rates of change of up to 4.24 mm yr−1. Our data also confirm the acceleration of relative sea-level rise over the past two centuries and suggest that the current magnitude and rate of sea-level rise is not unprecedented.
