Record cold in Russia

Yakutia breaks records set in 1950 and 1966.

In the village of Talon, the temperature dropped to -30.7°C, shattering the previous record, -27.3°C, in 1966.

In Magadan, frosts intensified to -16°C, which is 0.5 degrees below the 1950 record.

In Oymyakon, the daytime temperature increased to thaws, and at night it did not drop below -25°C.

Average daily temperatures are 5-6 degrees behind the norm.
