Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney condemned Washington’s stay-at-home order in a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday night.
Fortney charged that lockdown measures were unconstitutional because they have forced so many businesses to close
He said he and other sheriffs in the state (italics added) will stop enforcing the stay-home order
‘I believe that preventing business owners to operate their businesses and provide for their families intrudes on our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,’ Fortney wrote.
‘As your elected Sheriff I will always put your constitutional rights above politics or popular opinion.’
Fortney’s protest comes amid mounting unrest over lockdowns across the US.
