It seems that the only way the population can be "persuaded" to follow the climate change policy is by the force of penalising taxes. Without this they would simply ignore the pleas of ministers. But how long will it be before these massive tax hikes cause outright dissent and French-style civil disobedience? Sadly there is no way these policies can be changed through the ballot box, since all main parties are signed up to the same disastrous course
