COAL DEMAND STILL INCREASING ACROSS THE WORLD

NUSA DUA, Indonesia, Sept 27 (Reuters) – Asia’s coal sector has gone from thinking they are in terminal decline as the world shifts to a net-zero carbon future to seeing themselves as being a part of the energy mix for decades to come, while raking in profits.

The bullish narrative was on full display at the industry’s biggest gathering, the Coaltrans Asia conference held this week on the Indonesian resort island of Bali.

What has changed for the coal industry is that they no longer believe that renewable energies can be deployed fast enough, cheaply enough and at sufficient scale to push fossil fuels out of Asia’s energy mix.

"The reality is that coal demand will continue to increase," Septian Hario Seto, Indonesia’s deputy of investment at its Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, told the conference.

Soon/Connollys: Challenges of the detection and attribution of global warming | Tom Nelson Pod #153

Tom Nelson

Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist and geoscientist, is a leading authority on the relationship between solar phenomena and global climate. In this 32+ years of singular pursuit, he seeks to understand the Sun-Earth relations in terms of not only meteorology and climate, but also in terms of orbital dynamics of Sun-Earth-other planets interactions, magmatic (volcanoes) and tectonic (earthquakes) activities. His discoveries challenge computer modelers and advocates who consistently underestimate solar influences on cloud formation, ocean currents, and wind that cause climate to change. He has faced and risen above unethical and often libelous attacks on his research and his character, becoming one of the world’s most respected and influential voices for climate realism. In 2018, he founded the Center for Environmental Research and Earth Sciences (CERES-science.com) in order to tackle a wider range of issues and topics without fears nor prejudices.

Dr. Michael Connolly is an independent scientist, based in Ireland.

Lecturer and tutor at third level in the fields of physics, chemistry, electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics, and statistics.

I qualified as a plasterer in 1969, as an electrician in 1970 and have experience in all building trades. In 1975, I built our first house entirely on my own. The last time this house was sold it went for approx. $1 million. Since then, I have designed and built hundreds of buildings and houses.

About Ronan Connolly:
I am an independent scientist, environmentalist and writer.
My primary university degree was in Chemistry, and my PhD in computational chemistry/polymer physics. However, in 2004, I shifted to environmentalism, and began working with my father, Dr. Michael Connolly, on developing sustainable methods of fish-farming, aquaponics and waste-water treatment. We also carried out research into developing low-cost heat exchanger systems and new energy efficient building materials and techniques.

“Safe and Effective” dis information in one minute thirty…

By Jo Nova

WallStreetSilver has updated the great little pandemic musical on vaccine efficacy. Elon Musk retweeted it. So far 7.7 million people have seen it, 26,000 have commented and it keeps spreading.

Have you heard dis information? pic.twitter.com/sHljBLYNfq

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 26, 2023

Elon Musk replied:

My concern was more the outrageous demand that people *must* take the vaccine and multiple boosters to do anything at all. That was messed up. Until the Supreme Court invalidated Biden’s exec order, SpaceX and many other companies would have been forced to fire anyone who refused to get vaccinated! We would not have done so. I would rather go to prison than fire good people who didn’t want to be jabbed. As for myself, I got original Covid before the vaccine was out (mild cold symptoms) and had to get three vaccines for travel. The third shot almost sent me to hospital.

How many other people out there have symptoms that are actually from the vaccine or Covid treatment, rather than Covid itself? As for those who didn’t take any vaccine, well @DjokerNole just won a record number of grand slams … It’s not like I […]
