A 4500-year reconstruction of sea surface temperature variability at decadal time-scales off North Iceland

This paper is 15 years old, and I may have covered it in the deep and distant past (!), but it is still highly relevant:

The age of the core top is 1950 AD, in other words that is the most recent data, though the paper acknowledges it may be slightly older.

But what the clearly shows yet again, is the massive drop in SSTs during the Little Ice Age from the peak about 1000 years ago.
