What I’ve Been Up To

For the past two years I’ve been working on a book that relies heavily on first-person interviews. The trucker protest in early 2022 was a seismic, historic event here in Canada. It was also an ink blot test. Mainstream journalists, politicians, bureaucrats, and leftists describe these events in a manner that’s totally unrecognizable to anyone who actually participated in the protest, who visited Ottawa during the three weeks the truckers were there, or who cheered the truckers en route.

Canadians, as well as people elsewhere, have a right to know what really happened. Some excellent books have already been published, but they mostly focus on the protest organizers. Mine is about ordinary people who did extraordinary things. Calmly and peacefully, the truckers – actively supported by citizens from every walk of life – successfully put an end to the ugly, segregated-by-vaccine-status nation Canada had become.

I’ve interviewed numerous people who took part in these events. I’ve watched the videos they recorded at the time, examined the photographs they took, and have extensively documented the voluminous ‘thank you’ notes, letters, and cards they received from grateful members of the public. The truckers were assisted in every way imaginable by strangers who brought them food, fuel, and funds. Strangers washed their laundry, rented them hotel rooms, and hosted them in their own homes. When I finally pull all of this material together into a final manuscript, it’s going to be amazing.

You can read about Travis, a New Brunswick trucker here.

And about Mama Sandra, a Quebec cook who fed the truckers for 3 weeks, here.

And about Clayton, a western Ontario trucker here.

Here’s a list of the 500+ blog posts I’ve published there so far (20-page PDF).
