Some Contributions to Energy and Political Economy

Resourceship

In Capitalism at Work, containing a history of energy thought, and under the tutelage of Institutional economist Tom DeGregori of the University of Houston and Pierre Desrochers, I discovered Erich Zimmermann and put his ideas on the intellectual map. Stated Troy Vettese:[1]

“Though he draws a different intellectual genealogy than this article, credit must go to Robert Bradley Jr. for highlighting the influence of Zimmermann on neoliberal thought. See his essay “Resourceship: An Austrian Theory of Mineral Resources,” Review of Austrian Economics 20, no. 1 (2007): 63—90. Notably Bradley, Thomas DeGregori, and Zimmermann all studied or worked at Texas universities at some point.
