For the benefit of those who wish to keep track of stations reviewed so far I have cobbled together an index system to work for the time being.
From the Talkshop home page click on the “Surface Stations Project” sub header. This will show all Tim Channon’s original 2012 reviews and alongside is a large red LINK for the 2024 onwards links of mine.
Clicking on this latter link directs to an alphabetical page listing, select the start letter of the station name and this directs to all stations starting with that letter. Select your choice from there
It is not as time consuming as it sounds and does work. The varying technologies over time to create this blog mean it cannot be much simpler due to incompatibility issues. Indexes are normally produced at the end of a work so this has to be a “moveable feast” for now. Ultimately a combined index will be produced and a “chapter” system covering particular topics will be introduced.
There are over 380 Met Office Climate and Synoptic Weather Stations in the UK and together with issues to report on closed stations and ongoing new stations there will ultimately likely be over 500 review pages. This is for the long haul!
