Many of us fondly remember the Dad’s Army TV series showing how an army of enthusiastic, but ill-equipped civilians prepared to fight Hitler’s army should a land invasion have occurred. It is becoming apparent that our Met Office is also relying on well-meaning amateurs to look after its weather stations as this article shows:
As the article says, it is no fault of the site-owners, but they are being asked to provide the data which are under-pinning the government policy that is asking us all to become worse off. The public are completely unaware that they are being deceived in this way, and the government are complicit in using this poor quality information.
