The Met Office continues to use junk sites, which may be overstating true temperatures by as much as five degrees, for climate propaganda purposes.
Both Cardiff and Ross are Class 5s, totally unsuitable for climatological work.
Astwood is little better as a Class 4. Ray Sanders has an excellent analysis of this weather station on Tallbloke – here.
It turns out the site is in somebody’s back garden, surrounded on all four sides by tall hedges and the house itself!
