Silly Jilly is back!!!

The world used clean power sources to meet more than 40% of its electricity demand last year for the first time since the 1940s, figures show.

A report by the energy thinktank Ember said the milestone was powered by a boom in solar power capacity, which has doubled in the last three years.

However, dig into the small print, and you discover things are not quite as rosy as Silly Jilly pretends.

That wonderful solar power only supplied 7% last year, with another 8% from wind. By far the biggest contributor is hydro power, at 15%, which has been steadily turning out similar amounts of electricity for decades.

The rest of the claimed 40% comes from nuclear and tree burners, neither of which could remotely be described as “clean” – certainly not amongst Jilly’s bien pensant circle!

In reality of course, electricity is only a minor part of the world’s energy mix, so her figures become even less impressive.

More good news on the CO2 front!

Global vegetation reached a new greening peak in 2020, continuing a long-term trend since 2000 according to new dramatic findings published by a team of scientists based in the United States. The work helps confirm other recent scientific work that points to massive global plant growth directly related to recent increases in natural and human-caused carbon dioxide. Plants have evolved to grow in an atmosphere much richer in CO₂ than current near-denuded levels, and the recent growth and its myriad benefits for humankind should not be surprising. Needless to say, the news is absent from mainstream headlines since the ‘pollutant’ is temporarily being blamed for climate collapse in the interest of boosting the collectivist Net Zero fantasy.

Insulation was installed in 14 homes in Yorkshire, at a cost of up to £44,000 per house, for the research conducted by Leeds Beckett University for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). The government-backed study showed that it could take more than a century before the cost was repaid in reduced energy bills.

The Government is expected to unveil new plans to fund retrofits in poorer homes, as well as schools and other public buildings, within weeks, as part of Labour’s manifesto pledge to upgrade five million homes to cut bills for families. But will they notice any difference?
