Record Snowfall Across Upper Midwest Shatters Previous Records

For example, Wausau, Wisconsin’s new record of 9.3 inches was almost double the previous record of 5.6 inches set in 1923.

The 5.3 inches of snow that fell in Sioux Falls, S.D. also set a new record, shattering the old record of 3.3 inches set in 1974.

High snow amounts in other areas included:

Petoskey, MI.           12″
Minneapolis, MN    10.6″
Elk Creek, WI            9.0″
Cheboygan, MI         8.5″
Ledyard, IA               8.0″
St. Cloud, MN           7.7″
