Whatever happens, even if this season remains in second place, it still means that Billings has endured its four snowiest winters on record in the past 20 years.
6 Apr 2018 – As of 11 a.m. Friday, 102.4 inches of snow had fallen on the Montana city this season, putting it just 1.1 inches shy of the all-time record of 103.5 inches set during the 2013-2014 winter.
“We’re expecting snow through a good chunk of the day,” National Weather Service meteorologist Aaron Gilstead said Friday morning, with the chance of a couple more inches of accumulation.
Record snowfall after record snowfall after record snowfall … that’s how glaciers grow.
