German Coal States’ Economy Ministers Warn Against “Hasty Exit Plans”

The economy ministers of the German coal states Brandenburg, Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) have warned the country’s coal exit commission against coming up with “hasty” scenarios for phasing out fossil power sources.

In a press release issued on the eve of the coal exit commission’s inaugural meeting, the ministers – Albrecht Gerber from Brandenburg, Martin Dulig from Saxony (both CDU), and Andreas Pinkwart (FDP) from NRW – said that a coal exit scenario recently published by Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) appeared to be “politically motivated,” and could “influence the debate within the commission at our expense” by making “unrealistic assumptions” about the power grid. The three ministers said the commission’s task was not merely to plan the end of coal-fired power production, but also to prevent severe economic disruptions in coal regions. “Nobody must jump to conclusions concerning a coal exit date,” Brandenburg’s minister Gerber said.

Growth Of The Petermann Glacier Since 2012

The Petermann Glacier in Greenland has grown several kilometers since late summer 2012.

2012     2018

Climate scientists and the press responded to this growth by doing what they always do – lie about it.  Andreas Muenchow of the University of Deleware told the Washington Post that he stopped being a skeptic due, to what he saw at the Petermann glacier since late summer 2012.

the Petermann Ice Shelf lost another two Manhattans of ice in 2012, and Muenchow decided to see for himself, launching a project to study the ice shelf intensively.

He was back again in late August, no longer a skeptic

In Greenland, a once doubtful scientist witnesses climate change’s troubling toll | The Washington Post

Meanwhile, Greenland’s surface has gained more than 600 billion tons of ice since last summer.  With only a little over 30 days left to the melt season, the Greenland melting scam is facing catastrophic collapse.

And climate scientists of course continue to lie about it.

Eighty years ago, it was the glaciers which were collapsing. Now it is the scam that is collapsing.

The Arctic warmth of 1939 was troublesome to climate scientists. so they did the obvious thing and simply erased it.

Green Campaigners Defeated: British Parliament Votes To Expand London’s Heathrow Airport

British lawmakers voted strongly in favour of building a new runway at London’s Heathrow Airport on Monday, paving the way for the airport’s expansion after decades of delays and policy U-turns. Lawmakers voted 415 to 119 in favour of the move, a decision that has long divided parliament regardless of party lines.

Some have opposed the extra noise and air pollution it will bring to London, particularly its western regions.

In a sign of the battles still to come, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said he would bring legal action to block the expansion while the owner of British Airways warned that it would not accept higher charges for consumers and airlines.

“The Government is pressing ahead with the wrong option, resulting in intolerable noise levels and worsening air quality,” Khan said on Twitter…

Campaigning group Greenpeace UK said it would work with councils across London and the mayor to bring a legal challenge.

“If ministers don’t want to uphold the laws protecting us from toxic fumes and climate change, we’re going to ask a court to do that,” it said.

New Arctic Forecast

With Arctic sea ice volume highest since 2004, and melting second slowest on record, I am now forecasting that June will finish third highest on record, a little below 2004 and 2003 – with the slowest 30 day melt on record.

Experts tell us that the slowest melt in 15 years, is the fastest melt in 1,500 years.
