Of course. Western Civilization is based on abundant, inexpensive oil. And oil is a diminishing resource, which will, soon enough be uneconomical to produce and burn as fuel.
Obsession with Global Warming has obscured the far more relevant and imminent threat of Peak Oil, a reality which will come to pass long before climate variability has any measurable impact on human civilization. Ironically, Peak Oil will reduce human CO2 production, whether or not it has any effect on global climate variability.
