Alberta – Summer snowfall this weekend could break records

14 Sep 2018 – After accumulating snowfall made for difficult travel in parts of Alberta earlier this week, two more rounds of significant snow threaten to set records in the capital (Edmonton) region this weekend.

“Snow began in northern Alberta on Tuesday night and quickly spread south and southeastward through Wednesday and into Thursday,” says Environment Canada.

The totals were impressive, especially considering it is still summer. The Grande Prairie region picked up 12 cm through Thursday with Hendrickson Creek reporting nearly 14 cm. Edmonton saw over 5 cm.
