8 Nov 2018 – The National Weather Service in Marquette, Michigan has issued a winter storm warning from 10 pm this evening to 7 am Saturday.
Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph from Friday afternoon into Friday evening. Bands of lake enhanced snow will affect portions of the Keweenaw Pensinsula tonight with brief periods of heavy snow. More persistent and widespread heavy lake effect snow is expected Friday, especially from Friday afternoon into Friday evening.
Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and
evening commutes.
The earning applies to Keweenaw-Northern Houghton Counties, Including the cities of Copper Harbor, Houghton, and Hancock
