Oregon city sets snowfall record snowfall for entire month

A different city sets new daily cold record.

As of Wednesday, total snowfall for February was 19.1 inches, said Jim Smith, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pendleton, Oregon.

“Normal snowfall for the month of February is 3.3 inches,” said Smith. The previous record for the month was 16.8 inches set in 1994.

Meanwhile, Meacham, Oregon set a daily low temperature on Feb. 7 when the mercury fell to -14 degrees (-23.3C), toppling the previous record set in 2001 by a full 10 degrees.
