Heavy snows to hit San Diego County, CA

HEAVY SNOW WITH LOW SNOW LEVELS (down to 2,000 ft) WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY – Localized amounts up to 20 inches (50 cm)

National Weather Service SAN DIEGO CA Feb 19 2019 –

The area with greatest accumulations will likely be the San Diego County Mountains.

The San Bernardino and Riverside County Mountains will see
accumulations Wednesday and Wednesday night, with light
accumulations possible Thursday.

WINTER STORM WARNING FROM 1 PM WEDS TO 1 AM FRIDAY

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Wednesday. Tree branches could fall as well. Total snow accumulations of 1-3 inches from 2500-3500 ft, 3-5 inches from 3500-4500 ft, 5-10 inches from 4500-5500 ft and 12-16 inches above 5500 ft, with localized amounts up to 20 inches, are expected. A dusting is possible down to 2000 ft.

* WHERE…San Bernardino County Mountains-Riverside County Mountains-San Diego County Mountains – Including the cities of Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear City, Big Bear Lake, Running Springs, Wrightwood, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, Julian, and Pine Valley

Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
