“Unusual” snowfall is disrupting traffic today in the plains and in the mountains in the Pyrenees-Orientales, and several passes are closed. Some 1,500 households are also without electricity.
The Pyrénées-Orientales were placed by Météo France on orange alert this Monday morning due to the presence of snow and risk of ice. In the department, the cumulative precipitation will be significant, with snow from 500 meters above sea level at the end of the morning, then around 700 to 800 meters during the day.
This very disturbed episode should continue in days, and eventually give large volumes of snow
