Record snowfall in New York – Almost 2 feet (60 cm) of snow in some areas.
Cold Arctic air in the East Coast brought almost 2 feet of snow to western New York Saturday, knocking out power for more than 250,000 in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
A daily snowfall record of 18.4 inches was recorded Saturday at Buffalo International Airport.
Also, up to 14 inches of snow fell in western Pennsylvania, and up to 13.5 inches in the Cleveland metro area.
In a topsy-turvy twist, many Northeast cities saw their warmest Christmas in history, from 61 degrees in Worcester, Massachusetts, to 64 degrees in Burlington, Vermont, and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, a freeze warning was issued for central Florida, including Orlando, where the temperature Friday night into Saturday morning were expected to fall to 29 degrees (-1.7C).
